In order to get you "up to speed" on technology skills that you will need at Atlanta International School, we have created a scavenger hunt for you to complete!
When you have finished with these tasks you will know how to:
- Log in to your AIS Gmail account
- Use Google Calendar and Google Docs
- Locate and use Moodle
- Find grade level calendars
- Locate the AIS subscription databases
- Download an image from Britannica Image Quest
- Save images and files
- Use Boolean operators (AND, OR, and NOT)
- Create a Noodletools account
- Create a citation in Noodletools of your image
- Share your Noodletools project through a drop box
- Air drop your image to a classmate
- Look up a book in OLIVER, the AIS library catalog
- Make a screen shot
- Find if an Accelerated Reader (AR) quiz exists for your book
Finding the databases!
Starting from the www.aischool.org website, click on the LIBRARY link in the bottom right corner.
From the next page, click on SECONDARY School Library.
From that page, click on Secondary School Databases.
You may next get a page asking for a password. What is it? Ask Mrs. Rembert, Mrs. Barrio, Mr. Roby, Ms. Higginbottom, Mrs. Stephenson or Mr. Preis!
Once you enter the password you should arrive at the subscription databases.
Go to Britannica Image Quest and download a picture that says something about you or your summer.
Be sure and also get the information you will need to cite your picture in Noodletools!

Take a screen shot of the results page of your search and attach it to an email it to Mrs. Rembert at firstname.lastname@example.org . DON"T HIT SEND YET! You have more to include first!
Find if an Accelerated Reader quiz exists for your book
By now you should know how to get to the main Secondary School LibGuide page.
Look for the box with the title Accelerated Reader at the top. Click on the image in the box that looks like this:
Find the quiz number for a book you read this summer. Add this information to the email you will be sending to Mrs. Rembert.
Create a Noodletools account and use it!
Click the link above to go to Noodletools.
Click on "Current Users: Sign In" in the top right corner.
Click on "Create a Personal ID"
Create an account, making sure to use the same username as your school username.
Ber sure and enter your year of graduation (2020 for 7th graders, 2019 for 8th graders)
Create a project in Noodletools with your name and the word "orientation" in the name.
Create a citation for the image you downloaded from Britannica Image Quest.
Share your project with the dropbox named "AIS Orientation"
